Current positions
We are seeking a Software Engineer who will be responsible for advancing our existing software platform and developing production-grade data processing workflows.
Experience with Python web application development, working with data scientists, BI applications and data-processing/delivery workflows are highly regarded.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with Linux environments, cloud-based software deployment (AWS) and working within a DevOps team.
Initially, this role will be based on a three-month term, supporting project activities.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Software Engineering or a related field

Field Technicians Primary duties will be to undertake drill core cleaning and preparation for scanning using Orexplore’s GeoCoreX10© while supporting Site geologists and scanning technicians.
Calling all Project Geologists. This newly created role will provide practical assistance to our clients at various operational mines and exploration sites to adopt, utilise, and embed our GeoCore X10 Scanning Technology.
This role will be the primary contact between clients and Orexplore for field-based activities associated with our Sea Container deployments.
Each deployment includes up to three GX10 instruments. This role acts as a conduit between Field Operations Superintendents, Orexplore Scanning Crews and Logistics Officers while also supporting Operational Engineers to ensure safe, efficient scanning operations.
Ideally, an early career engineer with a strong desire to undertake hands-on learning and contribute to the delivery of complex instrumentation, electro-mechanical systems, and a range of software platforms passionate about supporting and developing transformative technologies.
Our recruit will have a tertiary qualification in mechatronics or a similar field, competency in at least one programming language, be able to travel to client sites and have a passion for continually learning and improving. Prior experience with high-performance computing, CAD/CAM workflows, or data analysis is an added benefit.
Orexplore’s GeocoreX10 platform generates a vast quantity of high-quality geological data, which we leverage to provide new insights to our clients.
We are looking for a Data Scientist with a geoscience background to join our team with an initial emphasis on analysis &modelling of scan data and solving problems across the mining value chain to support our consulting geology team.
Our new data scientist will work closely with our R&D team to rapidly develop new tools and methods which directly solve our individual customer’s business problems and contribute to the scale-out of our global data architecture.
A central role to further develop the company’s current analysis machine for drill cores, you will be developing concepts and solutions for future products, focusing on the design of moving mechanics and enclosures. This role sits within our iterative methodology with a goal to deliver efficient production and state of the art manufacturing methods.
Experience in product development, CAD systems, industrial design, design for manufacturing and design for assembly, a relevant tertiary degree is preferred.
